Concerning Morocco…the Gabon national team threatened with exclusion from international competitions
The Gabon national team is threatened with exclusion from all international competitions if the Gabonese Federation does not pay the financial rights of the former Panthers coach, the Frenchman Patrice Nouveau.
FIFA has ordered the Gabonese Federation to pay Patrice Novo 522,000 euros in compensation for his dismissal following his exclusion from the last African Cup of Nations.
The French coach had opposed this dismissal, believing that he had been unfairly dismissed, so he filed a complaint with the FIFA authorities, who ruled in his favour and ordered him to pay 522,000 euros still outstanding.
Patrice Novo tried to settle the matter amicably, but the Gabonese Federation’s procrastination prompted Novo, accompanied by his lawyer, to put pressure on him to demand payment of the sum or take measures to prevent Gabon from participating in international competitions.
The Gabon national team is part of the Morocco group, where the two teams will face each other on September 6 as part of the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2025”.
