The “Spanish visa” brokers’ file reaches Parliament

A. Latif Baraka: Heba Press

The parliamentary representative of the socialist group, Aouisha Zulfi, asked a written question to the Minister of the Interior, Abdel-Wafi Laftit, on the issue of the monopolization of the dates for obtaining the Spanish visa by what she called “brokers”.

In his question to the Minister of the Interior, the parliamentarian confirmed that there are complaints from citizens regarding the difficulty of finding appointments to obtain a Spanish visa, in addition to the high fees set by the “brokers” amounting to 30 thousand dirhams per person, which endangers the interests of citizens, men and women, with fixed deadlines, such as studies, family reunions or treatment.

Aouisha Zulfi inquired about the measures taken by the Ministry of Laftit to intervene in order to facilitate the procedures of Moroccans to obtain appointments for Spanish visas, wondering in the same vein why the rights of Moroccan citizens to obtain a travel visa are not guaranteed and secured in a way that would put an end to their suffering related to this monopoly.

The same parliamentarian stressed the need for the authorities concerned to intervene to resolve the crisis of issuing Spanish visas and to organize them to guarantee the dignity of Moroccans, free from any form of monopoly, speculation and manipulation of the rights of Moroccan citizens.
