1st preliminary round “return” of the Champions League / Alarm bell: AS FAR qualifies in pain and randomness against Remo Stars
BABA-HIBAPRESS-RABAT
For the first qualifying round of the Champions League “return” match which has just taken place at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Complex in Rabat, AS FAR qualified for the second preliminary round which leads to the Groups against Remo Stars of Nigeria 2-0 after having conceded defeat in the “first leg” 1-2
The FAR, although qualified, did not demonstrate anything conclusive during the entire match where they started the match certainly, by dominating the first half without being able to score, while in the second half it was a sterile and random game even having opened the score in the 53rd by the Congolese Beya and the double goal by Zahzouh on penalty
AS FAR showed several limitations of play, especially in the second part where it only cleared and lost the ball with great naivety, fortunately Remo Stars acted badly counting only on a disorderly engagement and long balls which could not bring them the expected solution
All in all, the FAR have a lot to do if they really want to qualify for the Groups because at this rate, we are sure to experience the same fate as last year against Etoile du Sahel.
The FAR technical staff has not yet brought anything to this team and it seems that it has no idea what African competition is and does not know how to contain the fury of the opponent when it is confined to defense.
The FAR public came in large numbers to watch as their team emerged “happy” from the qualification, but they wanted to ask many questions about the mediocre performance of their long-standing team and aspire to the best for the next deadline.
Forewarned is forearmed…
