Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed carried out a ministerial reshuffle on Sunday covering several portfolios, including foreign affairs and defense.
According to the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) news agency, the president appointed several new ministers including Khaled Shili as head of the defense ministry and Mohamed Ali Nafti as minister of foreign affairs, migration and Tunisians abroad.
The portfolios affected by the reshuffle include Health, Economy and Planning, Social Affairs, Trade and Export Development, Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, and Education.
The reshuffle also affected the ministries of higher education and scientific research, youth and sports, transport, tourism, religious affairs and cultural affairs.
This reshuffle comes after the appointment of Kamel Maddouri as Head of Government in place of Ahmed Hachani, a few weeks before the presidential elections, scheduled for October 6.
