Paris 2024 Paralympic Games: Moroccan participation, to do better than the Olympians

Morocco is participating in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in order to achieve feats that will make us forget the disastrous fiasco suffered by our athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

It has been customary to see our Paralympic athletes doing their utmost to win medals even though they do not have the same financial resources as normal athletes and who have only won one gold and one bronze medal.

It should be recalled that the first Moroccan Paralympic athletes arrived last Wednesday in the French capital to take part in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, scheduled from August 28 to September 8.

At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, 38 Moroccan athletes will defend the National Colors, in para athletics (motor and visual impairment), wheelchair tennis, para powerlifting, para taekwondo, para road cycling and blind football.

The Moroccan Paralympic Delegation is led by Mr. Mustapha Fkeoui, Secretary General of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for People with Disabilities (FRMSPSH)

Moroccan athletes aspire to reach the highest levels of performance.

In total, the Paralympic Delegation comprises 85 members, including the 38 athletes, as well as technical, administrative, logistical and medical staff.

Morocco has won a total of 38 medals in its participation in the Paralympic Games since 1988 in Seoul, including 16 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze. Para athletics took the lion’s share with 34 medals, while the disciplines of para swimming (Seoul 1988), para triathlon (Rio De Janeiro 2016), para powerlifting (London 2012) and five-a-side blind football (Tokyo 2020) settled for bronze.
