Paraguay, who are only making their third appearance at the final phase of the U-20 Women’s World Cup, will face Morocco, who are making their debut in the competition.
Second in the South American qualifiers, the Paraguayans will be looking to make a good showing on the world stage after failing to get out of their group in their last two appearances.
The North Africans, for their part, have undergone intensive preparation, playing seven matches in the last six weeks. Despite three defeats and two draws, they ended on a positive note with a 2-0 win over Fiji earlier this week.
In figures
Paraguay have only recorded one win in their six matches in the tournament, against Costa Rica (2-1) at Canada 2014.
The U-20 Women’s World Cup is the last FIFA women’s tournament in which Morocco has not yet participated. The Moroccans made their debut at the U-17 World Cup in 2022 and the senior World Cup in 2023.
