Al-Halimi delegation scandal… anyone who works one hour a week is not considered unemployed (document)
The scandals of the High Commission for Planning, headed by Ahmed Al-Halimi, one of the most prominent long-time officials in Morocco, continue, and this time with a new scandal after the scandals of suspicious transactions made for the purpose of the General Population and Housing Census of 2024.
The new scandal is represented by the High Commission for Planning, which issues orders and recommendations to supervisors and participants in the census process, not to consider as unemployed anyone who has worked one hour in the seven days preceding the start of the census process, but rather to fall into the category of people who are actively working.
According to an official document obtained by the electronic newspaper “Heba Press”, regarding economic activity and travel to work, it is indicated that an “active and working” person is any person whose age is equal to or greater than 7 years, who, during the 7 days preceding the date of the family interrogation, has carried out an activity for at least one hour, on his own account or on behalf of another person, or has carried out work of an economic nature to which he seeks to contribute. provide what his family consumes, as indicated in the same document.
Human rights organizations are expected to be involved in this very serious scandal, which reveals the falsity of the data related to the census process and the extent of the credibility of the information included during this process.
