Drop in Moroccan tomato exports to European Union countries

Moroccan tomato exports to European Union countries have declined in recent months, according to professional data relating to the value of exports and imports of vegetables and fruits to and from the European Union.
In this regard, the value of European imports of Moroccan tomatoes decreased during the period from September 2023 to May 2024, as it decreased by 6.8% compared to the same period last year.
Moroccan tomato exports to Europe decreased from 497,928 tonnes to 464,052 tonnes, while Turkish tomato imports, on the other hand, saw an increase of 40.4% compared to the average of the last five years and Tunisian tomato imports increased by 5.8% compared to the previous year.
