Only five nations have so far entered the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup™ and three of them are playing on matchday five at Colombia 2024.
Among them, European powerhouses Germany and Spain know that a victory would allow them to take a big step towards the last 16. Nigeria and Paraguay will be looking to follow up with a second win in a row.
Conversely, a second defeat for Korea Republic, Morocco, Venezuela and the United States, three times winners of the tournament, could lead to a hasty exit for Colombia.
Morocco – United States
Pascual Guerrero Stadium, Cali
Wednesday, September 4 | 8 p.m.
For its big debut in the tournament, Morocco managed to provoke a few moments of panic among the Paraguayans, but its defensive failures ultimately cost dearly (2-0 defeat). For their part, the United States struggled against the heat and the tiki-taka of the Spanish before losing 1-0. The equation is simple for both countries: to hope to aim higher, they will absolutely have to win.
