Sraghna Castle: ONEE strengthens and secures the drinking water supply of Al-Atawiyah and neighboring villages

The National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water has begun operating a structuring project aimed at strengthening and securing the supply of drinking water to the center of Atawia and its neighboring neighborhoods, from a single-block treatment plant in the province of Kelaat El Sraghna.

A report from the office specifies that this project, with a total cost of 12 million dirhams and financed by it thanks to a loan from the German Development Bank, includes the development of a raw water outlet and the completion of a single-block treatment plant with two treatment lines with a production capacity of up to 1,700 cubic meters per day.

The project also includes, adds the same source, the completion of pipelines to transport raw water and others to pump treated water to the current distribution reservoir, along a total pipeline of approximately 3.6 km.

This project will help meet the growing demand for drinking water in the Al-Atawiyah Center and its neighboring neighborhoods, benefiting a population of approximately 40,000 people in the short and medium term.

The communication stressed that this project will contribute to improving the living conditions of the beneficiary population and to the social and economic development of the region.
