Morocco is a very popular destination for Belgians, especially during this period, writes the Belgian daily “Le Soir”, which highlights addresses and destinations off the beaten track for “a memorable stay” in the Kingdom.
In an article published on its website, to be published in its lifestyle supplement “So Soir”, the newspaper highlights the charm of several Moroccan destinations, such as Akchour, not far from Chefchaouen in the northwest of Morocco.
“We are here at the gates of the Talassemtane National Park, a reserve known for its biodiversity and its unique landscapes,” underlines the daily, especially highlighting the Akchour waterfall, an unmissable stop with turquoise water, “the one of the hidden gems of Morocco.
The publication also suggests going to the economic capital. “There are a thousand and one reasons to go to Casablanca, the white city which continues to push its limits in terms of innovation,” she writes, citing in particular the historic core of the city, including Casa Anfa, “a a somewhat futuristic surface area of 350 hectares which appears both as an urban ensemble and a green lung of the city.”
Another suggested destination, the Agafay desert, just 30 minutes from Marrakech, has become in a few years “the essential getaway to treat yourself to”. “Ever more luxurious camps have gradually been established, offering exceptional retreats facing the Atlas, a stone's throw from the lively urban life of Marrakech,” notes the newspaper, adding that the clientele who goes there are “ in search of lunar landscapes, starry skies and accommodation that is out of the ordinary.”
