Walid Regragui: “We are going to recruit a new coach”

Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan national team, stressed the importance of the “Atlas Lions” contracting with a coach specialized in set pieces, with the aim of deciphering the teams that rely on the defensive style.

National voter Walid Regragui said in his statements after the Morocco-Lesotho match: “My fear of the future makes many players change, and as a coach at the same time, I like to take risks, and we know what we are doing.”

He continued: “We strengthened the team with a fixed ball specialist, and unfortunately in this camp his team refused to release him, and we worked normally, and his important touch appeared to us at that moment.”

Regragui continued: “He has helped us a lot and shown us that he is a competent person in his field, and that is what we will do in the future by strengthening our squad with a specialist in set pieces and throw-ins, and that is important in modern football.

The Moroccan national team coach concluded his statement by saying: “We have started communicating with some specialized coaches in big clubs, because we want the best, because it is the set pieces that open such matches for us.”

The Moroccan team beat Lesotho (1-0), top of its group in the “CAN” qualifiers with 6 points, knowing that it qualified for the continental competition as host country.
