The city of Nador is witnessing a vast sweeping campaign targeting cafes and shops that operate on public property without a permit.
Local authority patrols are working to put an end to these violations in several neighborhoods and streets plunged into chaos.
According to local sources, the campaign affected shops and cafes in different parts of the city, which sparked discontent among the owners of these projects.
The move is part of the authorities’ efforts to free up public property in various cities, with the aim of preserving the city’s aesthetics and ensuring freedom of movement for citizens.
It is noteworthy that the group has not conducted awareness campaigns on this issue for more than three months, as some indicate that there are those who are seriously dealing with this issue and working to settle their legal status to exploit part of the public domain, while others are still lagging behind.
Estimates also indicate that more than 90 percent of economic licenses are not located in areas with construction-related problems, noting the increased awareness among traders of the need to apply for a legal license, with the number of applications submitted to operate in public land reaching more than 600 applications.
