Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced the leasing of four Airbus A320 aircraft, a step aimed at accommodating the increasing demand for international flights during the current winter season. This is the first time the company has relied on this model, which historically known for its loyalty to the American "Boeing" fleet.
The national carrier has concluded temporary leasing contracts with "Avion Express Malta" and "Heston Airlines" to provide the four aircraft. This proactive step comes to manage the exceptional pressure on air traffic coinciding with the end of the year and the start of the influx related to the 2025 African Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco. "RAM" has allocated half of this leased fleet to enhance air connectivity with the Eastern region, in response to the expectations of Moroccans abroad and international travelers. The aircraft are distributed as follows: Nador Al Aaroui Airport: allocation of an aircraft to secure direct flights to Paris, France. Oujda Angads Airport: allocation of the second aircraft to ensure regular rotation with Paris Airport, which will relieve pressure on previously scheduled flights. These aircraft actually entered service in mid-December, and are expected to contribute significantly to the smoothness of air travel and reduce waiting times, pending the completion of major expansion plans that Royal Air Maroc is pursuing to develop its own fleet in the coming years.
