Benmoussa: We have taken all the measures and arrangements to ensure successful entry into school

The Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, confirmed during a presentation before the Government Council, today Thursday, that many measures and procedures have been taken with a view to successfully starting the current school year, which effectively began on Monday, September 9, 2024, in all educational establishments and at all levels of all educational establishments.

The Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of relations with Parliament, the official spokesman of the government, Mustafa Paytas, explained during a press interview at the end of the weekly meeting of the Council, that Mr. Benmoussa highlighted in this presentation on the evolution of the school. It must be recognized that this season saw the enrollment of 8 million 112 thousand students, in their educational institutions, about 984 thousand girls and boys are in primary education.

In this presentation, Mr. Benmoussa discussed the most important reform projects undertaken by the Ministry as part of the implementation of the 2022-2026 roadmap, stressing that the current school year, which took place under the slogan “For a quality public school for all”, will mark the expansion of the Pioneer Schools project in the primary sector, the number of which will reach 2,626 primary schools, and the piloting of the “Pioneer Preparatory Schools” model will begin with a total of 232 preparatory schools.

He added that the ministry will continue to generalize and improve primary education, and expand the teaching of the Amazigh language and the English language.

Mr. Benmoussa also stressed that current revenues will make it possible to expand the school offer and reduce overcrowding in classrooms, stressing the particular attention that the ministry pays to social support services, given their contribution to encouraging school enrollment, raising the level of academic achievement and reducing school waste rates.
