A video clip shows the shocking moment lightning struck a Russian tourist while he was dancing with his friends on the beach in Batumi, Georgia.
The rare incident was documented suddenly, as the tourist was performing a dance routine before being directly struck by lightning, which astonished those present at the scene.
Pavel Smirnov, 32, was with his friends on the pier adjacent to the beach, filming his dance in a video for social media, when they were surprised when a lightning bolt struck him and burned his clothes.

Immediately, his friends rushed to him and put out the fire, and an ambulance was called to take the young man to hospital, who suffered burns to his stomach, back and legs.
Luckily for him, the young man miraculously survived the lightning strike, and as soon as he regained consciousness, he said he was convinced he had become disabled. He explained that when he fell to the ground, he said he was sure he was dying, adding: “The first thing I saw was a tunnel of light.” “You’re dancing, and a second later you feel like you’re dying.”

He continued: “Then I completely lost feeling in all my limbs and my legs became uncontrollable.” There was only one arm that moved normally. I felt burning pain everywhere. Pain in my intestines, in my legs and throughout my body. “With severe difficulty breathing.”
The tourist was hospitalized for observation but is expected to be released home within days. Doctors told him it was a “miracle” he was not killed or seriously injured.
