The parliamentarian of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces Party, Salwa Demnati, commented on the events taking place in the city of Fnideq, due to the influx of hundreds of young people and minors to migrate en masse to the other side.
Demnati said in a blog post she published on her Facebook account: “The situation in Fnideq is very painful, I see convoys of children and young people thrown into the sea and their blood flows on the fences of the barriers. As an opposition parliamentarian, we held our breath in alerting the government about the miserable economic and social conditions of its inhabitants in Fnideq and in the regions, after the closure of the Ceuta crossing without offering an alternative, there is no more room for politics. Do not the wise and competent people of this government question themselves about the reasons that pushed these children and young people to flee their soil and their country and to commit suicide in this hideous way and to insist on fleeing while knowing that they are not desirable on the other side? The pain that comes after is that of a mother saying goodbye to her children as they have been thrown into the sea and praying for their safe arrival as her tears mix with the sea water.”
The federal parliamentarian added: “The government must look in the mirror, take its head out of the sand and wake up from its arrogance by finding quick solutions to offer employment opportunities on the ground and not slogans chanted at conferences to these young people. “Those who are not classified in the education or training category, nor in the unemployment category. These young people are the weapons of Morocco 2030. If they move, who will build, who will facilitate and who will hoist the flag of this country in 2030? Demnati concludes his message with a question
