Heba Press – Casablanca
In a country that prides itself on being a powerful force, and in a country that claims to have stadiums capable of hosting major international events, imagine being unable to organize all the matches of the local championships using “mouse” technology.
In this regard, the Algerian Federation has been the subject of strong criticism from football fans after its decision to play only half of the tournament matches using “VAR”, due to the lack of stadiums capable of meeting the conditions of this technology on the one hand, and the lack of sufficient capacity on the other.
According to what has been published in the Algerian press and in the pages of several supporters’ associations in Algeria, there is great anger against the use of VAR in some stadiums only, which has created a wave of anger among some club presidents, given the gap in managing the matches.
Algeria’s largest website wrote an article saying: “The absence of the “VAR” in some stadiums in the country will open the way to problems and worsen relations between clubs, as the referees of the confrontations will be in difficulty and under great pressure, during the confrontations that will take place without “VAR”, and this will open a chapter on the interpretations that have harmed Algerian football, which places the Algerian Football Federation in the face of the inevitability of treating all clubs in the same way by applying the technology to all confrontations or postponing them until the necessary conditions are met in all stadiums in the country.
She added: “The most important problem that arises in the issue of applying “VAR” at the level of the national championship is perhaps that of some stadiums that do not meet the conditions, such as the Maqra stadium, the Khenchela stadium or even the Saoura stadium. given the narrowness of the stadium, unlike large stadiums such as Miloud Haddi and Douira, in addition to Baraki and 05 Juillet, and even the Constantine and Ait Ahmed Tizi Ouzou stadiums, not to mention some stadiums, such as the El Bayadh stadium and Mostaganem, where there are spaces to apply the technology comfortably compared to some other stadiums.
In short, it is 2024 and people are still living in ancient times with a number of championships in small African states. They were not even able to organize their championship games with a mouse and wanted to organize something else. I will not lie to anyone who said that it was indeed a strike force, a strike force in oral language….
