Artificial intelligence (AI) will be at the heart of the 6th edition of the African Digital Summit scheduled for October 2024, said Thursday in Casablanca the president of the Moroccan Advertisers Group (GAM), Youssef Cheikhi.
Initiated by the GAM, the 6th African Digital Summit is establishing itself as an essential digital event in Africa and aims to connect digital players across the continent, by highlighting the challenges and opportunities linked to the introduction of artificial intelligence, Mr. Cheikhi indicated during the presentation conference of this summit.
On this occasion, he noted that this edition is taking place in a context of rapid transformation, where artificial intelligence offers many opportunities while posing challenges, particularly in terms of energy and talent.
And to add that the African Digital Summit, launched in 2014, aims to be a total immersion in digital trends and constitutes a platform for exchange and networking between brands, advertisers and startups.
The space dedicated to startups, present every year during the summit, allows young companies to meet Moroccan and international decision-makers, and constitutes a unique opportunity to connect supply and demand, while promoting innovation in the digital ecosystem. Mr. Cheikhi also recalled that the GAM, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, continues to represent the interests of Moroccan advertisers, with a central role in the development and evolution of marketing teams.
With more than 100 member companies, the group represents 98% of advertising investments in Morocco, he said, adding that thanks to its membership in the global network of advertisers, the GAM is in permanent contact with international developments in the sector.
For her part, the president of the scientific committee of the African Digital Summit, Nadia Rahim explained that artificial intelligence has become the common thread of the discussions, noting that AI is revolutionizing many sectors, including customer relations, e-commerce and content creation.
In this sense, she considered that brands should adapt quickly to these developments to remain competitive on the African and international market.
Ms. Rahim also discussed the impact of AI on sports marketing, a topic that is particularly relevant in the context of the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup.
For her, AI will play a central role in engaging fans and creating more effective marketing campaigns that can make brands shine on a global scale.
The 6th African Digital Summit promises to be a catalyst for digital transformation in Africa, bringing together brilliant minds and experts to inspire and drive the continent’s future digital strategies.
