The General Directorate of National Meteorology indicated, in a pre-alert which “will be followed by weather warning bulletins providing more details on the intensity and spatio-temporal extent”, that thunderstorms accompanied by hail and gusts of wind are expected today Saturday September 21 in several provinces of the Kingdom.
These heavy downpours, which will locally exceed 50 mm over 24 hours, will affect Smara, Assa-Zag and Tata.
The provinces of Ouarzazate, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Tiznit, Boujdour and Taroudant may also experience locally heavy thunderstorms during the same period.
