The Israeli National Security Council has issued a warning to Israeli citizens against traveling to Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Turkey.
According to the Times of Israel newspaper, the Council said in a statement: “The possibility of terrorist threats against Israelis and Jews more than 5 months after the start of the war in Gaza is very high. Dozens of such terrorist attempts targeting Israelis and Jews around the world have been foiled in recent years. Jewish communities in Europe and North America are also a major target for extremists, with religious and community institutions being a prime target during holidays and festivals.”
The Council also confirmed that “during the war in Gaza, international jihadist organizations are increasingly attempting to attract isolated attacks to target Jews and Israelis.”
In this context, the newspaper quoted an Israeli official stressing that: “Turkey, Morocco, Jordan and Egypt are destinations that should be avoided at present.”
