Today, Tuesday, September 24, at the headquarters of the prefecture of the province of Guercif, a ceremony was held to present certificates of benefits to the beneficiaries of the rehousing of the Hamriyah district, as part of the implementation of the “Cities without slums” program.
In his speech, the Governor of the Province of Guercif, Hassan Ben El-Mahi, praised all the partners, stakeholders and residents who have all contributed to accelerating the pace of implementation and achievement of this national project and its emergence.
He also praised the efforts made to overcome the difficulties and constraints encountered during the realization of this large community workshop, which included the preparation and equipment of the urban centers of “Ghayata” and “Hamriyah”, with the aim of enabling the families concerned to receive their plots of land as quickly as possible.
The regional officer recalled the royal directives aimed at enabling all social groups to obtain adequate housing and improve their living conditions in a way that guarantees their dignity.
During this ceremony, which was attended, in addition to the regional agent, by the regional director of housing and urban policy in the East, the regional director of the Omrane company in the East, and the regional directors of the water and electricity sectors in the East, in addition to the heads of decentralized departments, the heads of the communities of Guersif, Hawara and Ouled Rahhou, and a number of other officials, certificates of benefit were issued to the beneficiaries of the rehousing of the Hamriyah neighborhood, in which the number of beneficiaries reached 900 families in the first and second phases of the Mercy subdivision.
An additional 600 spaces will also be delivered within the third and fourth parts of the same commercial space, “Rahma 02”, over the coming months.
In a statement to the Heba Press website, the regional director of housing and urban policy confirmed that this day represents a historic milestone for the city of Guercif, which has reached this important stage thanks to the efforts of all partners and stakeholders, saluting the role of the regional worker.
The director also thanked the residents for their cooperation and involvement in this program which aims to provide adequate housing, improve the standard of living and guarantee the dignity of the Moroccan citizen, in execution of the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The spokesperson stressed the great role played by the Ministry of Guardians in providing sufficient support to achieve this result, declaring the city of Guercif a city without slums.
The program to rehouse the residents of the slums in the city of Guersif targets a total of 12,063 families, and all the slums in the city have been completely cleared, making the Hamriya neighborhood the last slum to be cleared under this program.
