The French magazine “Jeune Afrique” estimated that Macron’s visit to Morocco next October is a state visit and not a private trip.
The French magazine reports that the French president responded positively to the official invitation letter sent to him by King Mohammed VI.
The same magazine confirms that this official visit will result in the relaunch of a deep and strong friendship between Morocco and France, and the construction of a long-term strategic partnership between the two countries.
The magazine recalls the new position of the French Republic in favor of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, expressed on July 30.
The Jeune Afrique magazine also highlighted that the content of this visit had been under discussion for several months on new issues of interest for the two countries, such as green energy, artificial intelligence or mobility.
Ahmed Fawzi, former Moroccan ambassador to Ivory Coast, believes, according to the same magazine, that Moroccan-French bilateral relations are going through an ascending phase and that all indicators point towards a resumption of political relations, in addition to the relaunch of the economic partnership .
The ambassador stressed that these calls are part of making up for lost time, before adding: “From now on, after the inauguration of the new French government, there is no longer any obstacle to the visit of President Macron in Morocco.
He concluded by saying: “The state visit planned for October will certainly be an opportunity to end a very turbulent period between the two countries. »
