Good news for our MREs in Italy: Mutual recognition of driving licenses between Morocco and Italy

The Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of the Italian Republic proceeded, in Rome, to the signing of the Agreement on the mutual recognition of driving licenses for the purposes of conversion.

The Agreement was signed by Mr. Youssef Balla, Ambassador of His Majesty the King to the Italian Republic and Mr. Matteo Salvini, Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, in the presence of the Deputy Minister responsible for maritime transport.

During the signing ceremony of this Agreement at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Salvini expressed his admiration for the progress recorded by Morocco and the economic growth in terms of road, rail and port infrastructure. In this sense, he called for further strengthening bilateral relations in the field of connectivity, highlighting the investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom.

For his part, Mr. Balla underlined that the realization of this Agreement reflects the firm and continuous commitment of the Moroccan government, inspired by the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Very High Solicitude with which the Sovereign has always surrounded the members of the Moroccan Community.

He added that this new instrument adds to the legal arsenal which frames the excellent relations of cooperation and partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Italian Republic in several areas of common interest.

The signing of this agreement is the culmination of a long cycle of negotiations between the two countries.
