This trip is part of a regional tour to the parties cited by Security Council resolution 2703, with a view to relaunching the political process of round tables with the participation of Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and the Polisario, as the only framework defined by Security Council resolutions to achieve a realistic, pragmatic, lasting political solution based on compromise.
On this occasion, underlines the press release, the Moroccan delegation recalled the constants of Morocco’s position, reaffirmed by King Mohammed VI to the Secretary General of the United Nations, namely:
1. No process outside the framework of round tables defined by the UN, with the full participation of Algeria;
2. No solution outside of the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative;
3. No serious process, at a time when the ceasefire is violated daily by the Polisario militias.
