The E-Blagh digital platform, dedicated to the fight against cybercrime, has processed since its launch at the beginning of last June, a total of 7,083 reports of illicit content on the web, indicated the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).

These include crimes linked to new technologies, incitement and advocacy of terrorist acts, violation of the rights and freedoms of minors, attacks on the physical security of people, fraud, to fraud and blackmail, specifies the DGSN in a press release.

As part of a qualitative analysis of the reports received by the platform, the Technical Brigade of National Security processed a total of 6,788 reports in relation to criminal cases relating to new technologies, of which 60% concern cases of fraud and of digital fraud, 20% relate to cases of sexual blackmail and 10% to cases of insults and defamation.

Five percent of reported cases concern cases of violence and threats of violence, while the remaining 5% concern other content related to incitement to commit crimes against people, trafficking in prohibited goods on the internet and sexual exploitation.

From a procedural point of view, the technical teams supervising the E-Blagh platform carry out the expertise and technical diagnoses required on the reports received, before transmitting them to the territorially competent judicial police services, with the aim of notifying the public prosecutor’s office. and to initiate necessary investigations based on its instructions.

These investigations carried out under the supervision of the various public prosecutor’s offices made it possible to identify 82 individuals suspected of being involved in cases presenting elements constituting crimes and offenses punishable by law, of which 23 individuals were brought before the courts, while domestic arrest warrants were issued for nine suspects. Investigations continue into the other suspects involved in these criminal acts. Regarding cases of terrorism and extremism, the E-Blagh platform received during the same period a total of 295 reports concerning cases of apology and incitement to commit terrorist acts, of which 85 are linked to Internet activities linked to the apology of the terrorist organization Daesh, which were treated with the necessary seriousness through the opening of investigations into them.

Other statistical data highlight the level of trust and positive interaction with the service offered by the electronic platform, in the sense that a total of 4,117 reports received include the full identity of their authors, the equivalent of more than two thirds of all reports.

As a result of this mutual trust between the whistleblower and the digital platform, some 564 recorded reports come from abroad: from countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.

The National Security services aim, through continuous and serious interaction with the reports received at the E-Blagh digital platform, to strengthen the feeling of security and improve the levels of interaction between the security institution and the company.

It is also a matter of developing practical and effective mechanisms for combating crimes linked to new technologies, through the involvement of all citizens in matters of digital security, while making the web a safe space, free from threats and criminal behavior.

When developing the E-Blagh platform, the National Security services based themselves on fundamental security principles, including the joint conception of security, making the citizen a partner in the consolidation of security in its sense. the broadest, reporting all potential risks and threats.

This platform also embodies the duty to alert which requires everyone to report any offense or attempted offense that endangers collective security, the press release concludes.
