Despite the disappointing results of the Moroccan delegation participating in the Paris Olympics, the Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, described the results as positive.
In a presentation he made during a meeting of the Education, Culture and Communication Committee devoted to the evaluation of Moroccan participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Benmoussa indicated that the results of Moroccan participation in these Olympic Games, which were characterized by a high level of competitiveness, are positive compared to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Benmoussa added that Morocco managed to win a gold medal and a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro tournament.
The minister estimated that the result remains below the expectations of Moroccans, stressing that everyone is impatiently awaiting much better results than what was achieved during these competitions, especially since this participation comes in a context where expectations of the Moroccan public for various Sports have gained momentum in international sports forums, especially after the success of the national team during the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
