The State Directorate of Judicial Police of the city of Casablanca opened, Thursday, October 17, a judicial investigation under the direction of the competent public prosecutor’s office, with a view to verifying the criminal acts attributed to a security agent, working at the Sûreté of the State of Casablanca. , suspected of involvement in a case of embezzlement, squandering of public funds and participation.
The Casablanca security directorate received a complaint filed by the owner of a gas station responsible for supplying police vehicles with fuel in the Ain Sebaa security zone, in the city of Casablanca , claiming that he had not received part of his financial contribution, as previously reported. The research carried out showed that the police officer responsible for managing the department’s parking lot had failed to… Pay a sum greater than 40 millions of cents for the benefit of the plaintiff.
Further research also revealed that the police officer in question intended to collect this sum in the form of performance vouchers, before transforming it into sums of money in collusion with an employee of another station- service, whose identity and arrest are under investigation.
The alleged police officer was kept in theoretical detention pending the ongoing judicial investigation into this case under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, with the aim of identifying all criminal acts committed and seeking the remaining possible participants in this case.
In parallel with the judicial investigation procedures, the General Directorate of National Security issued a decision requiring the temporary suspension of the work of the suspected police officer, pending the determination of the disciplinary responsibilities against him in the light of the conclusions of the the investigation into this matter, which is part of a firm approach linking responsibility to accountability and seeking to consolidate the values of creating a public police service.
