On the other hand, 18 people were killed and 2,826 others were injured, 93 of them seriously, in 2,134 traffic accidents recorded in urban areas during the same period.
The report attributes the main reasons leading to the occurrence of these accidents, in order, to the inattention of drivers, failure to respect the right of priority, the inattention of pedestrians, failure to respect a safety distance, lack of control, excessive speed, unauthorized change. direction, change of direction without signal and non-compliance with parking required by the “Stop” sign, non-compliance with parking required by the red light, faulty overtaking, driving on the left of the road, driving in prohibited areas. steering and driving while intoxicated.
