A well-informed source confirmed that two new deaths were recorded among Moroccans residing in Spain following the floods in Valencia.
The same source reports that the number of Moroccan deaths stands at 3 dead and more than 20 people missing.
The Consulate General, under the directives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans of the World, had created a crisis unit in order to monitor the situation of the Moroccan community residing in the affected area, since two telephone numbers have been placed at its disposal in order to report potential victims of this tragedy or missing persons, and all cases that require the intervention of consular services are 0034.631.935.818 and 0034.631.711.873.
The aforementioned cell works, in coordination with the collective fabric of the region, to reach the victims, locate the missing and provide the necessary support in cases of emergency, while the Consulate General of Valencia remains in permanent contact with the Spanish authorities, who declared themselves ready to provide them with all information relating to potential Moroccan victims if it is available.
