Eight New Grain Ships Leave Ukraine under Istanbul Agreement

Six more grain ships have left Ukrainian ports as part of the Istanbul Agreement on grain shipments, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced Saturday.
Grain shipments from the Ukrainian ports are carried out under the control of the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul.
On July 22, Türkiye, Russia, Ukraine and the United Nations signed the “Initiative Document on the Safety of Grain and Food Transportation from Ukrainian Ports” at a meeting in Istanbul.
Since the first vessel set sail under the agreement on August 1, more than 179 ships have carried over 4 million tons of agricultural products from Ukraine.
