From April 26 to 28, 18th General Congress of Istiqlal: “Renewal of the pact for the Fatherland and the Citizen”.

The members of the Preparatory Commission for the 18th General Congress of the Istiqlal Party unanimously adopted the slogan of the congress which will be held from April 26 to 28 under the theme: “Renewal of the pact for the Fatherland and the Citizen”.

This preparatory commission for the 18th General Congress of the Istiqlal Party met the day before yesterday Sunday in Salé, in the presence of all of its members and the Secretary General of the Istiqlal Party Nizar Baraka, candidate for his re-election .

It also set the number of delegates, expected at 3,600. The latter are distributed throughout the territories of the Kingdom according to several criteria unanimously adopted by the members of the Commission.

Territorial distribution is defined according to the number of inhabitants, the number of votes obtained in legislative elections, the number of seats in the House of Representatives, the number of Territorial Communities chaired by the Party in each Province.

This meeting was an opportunity to complete the adoption of all the reports of the thematic subcommittees, including the subcommittee on Territorial Integrity, political and regional affairs, territorial governance, the subcommittee economic and sustainable development committee, that of paradigms, culture and communication, and the social and sports subcommittee. To which are added the subcommittees of MRE, and family and women as well as that of laws and statutes.

As for those responsible for the mission, the list adopted by the Commission includes 5% of the delegates elected in accordance with the Party statutes.

The preparatory commission also launched the applications for the party’s executive committee which must be submitted 72 hours before the launch date of the general congress, scheduled for April 26 to 28.

In the meantime, the Commission, chaired by Abdeljabbar Rachdi, is preparing to convene the regional assemblies of the Party from April 18 to 20.
