Frenchman Hervé Renard, the new coach of the Saudi national team, revealed the reasons for his refusal of the offer to coach the Senegalese national team to succeed Aliou Cissé.

In an interview with the French newspaper “Le Monde”, Renard said: “There were negotiations and I had one wish, which was that Omar Duff, the former Senegalese international, would be my assistant, but Omar is currently the coach of the Amiens club in the French second division.

Renard added that after not fulfilling this condition, he decided to withdraw his candidacy to coach the Senegal national team.

Renard added: “Coaching Senegal, one of the best teams in Africa, would have been a big challenge for me, but unfortunately not all the conditions I was looking for were met. »

It should be noted that Hervé Renard returned to coach the Saudi national team after leaving his position as coach of the French women’s national team.
