The Governing Council deliberated and approved draft decree No. 2.24.1009 approving the figures specifying the legal population of the Kingdom, presented by Abdel Wafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior.
This project is part of the completion of the last stage of the special right to complete the population and housing census in the Kingdom for the year 2024, which consists of listing and determining the results final results of the census process carried out last September for the aforementioned census. .
This draft decree aims to ratify the figures specifying the legal population of the Kingdom, by determining the number of the population at the level of the entire national territory, as well as at the level of the regions, prefectures, regions and communities.
According to the general results of the census process, the legal population of the Kingdom reached a total of 36,828,330 people as of September 1 of the current year. Thus, since the 2014 General Population and Housing Census, the Kingdom’s population has increased by 1.7 million inhabitants. 2,980,088 people, an increase of 8.80%+.
As for the total number of families resulting from the census, it is determined at 9,275,038 families.
This number, in turn, recorded a significant increase of 1,961,232 families, a rate equivalent to +26.82%, compared to the number of families recorded in 2014.
Concerning the number of foreigners residing in the Kingdom, their total number is determined at 148,152 people, recording an increase of 61,946 people, an estimated rate of 71.86%+ compared to the number of foreigners specified according to the 2014 census. .
