The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, took part, today Sunday in Sochi, in the 1st Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.
This 1st Ministerial Conference, which brings together the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the African States members of the United Nations, comes following the Summits of Saint Petersburg (2023) and Sochi (2019).
It aims to take stock of the provisions of the Declarations adopted at these two Summits and to identify prospects for future-oriented cooperation, in order to better meet the expectations and aspirations of African States.
Also, during this first edition of the Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference, where only the 54 African countries members of the UN were invited, Nasser Bourita launched a very significant speech which highlighted Morocco’s place in the world elite. and questioned the credibility of Algeria which was once again humiliated at its true value from the moment that the fact that the Polisario was not invited, 54 African countries members of the UN were the only ones invited, is in itself a real rout and it is a new disavowal which has a taste all the more bitter for Algeria since the Algerian MAE was present in Sochi and had seen its hopes shattered against the wall of a clear position and constant of Russia, as for the two Russia-Africa Summits 2019 (Sochi) and 2023 (Saint Petersburg), Russia confirms that there is no room for separatism and puppet entities.
Therefore, the Sochi meeting confirms that Russia does not recognize and has never recognized the pseudo SADR and does not confer on it any status other than one of the parties to a regional dispute, knowing that the Sochi Meeting is being held in less than 2 weeks after the resolution on the Moroccan Sahara, adopted by the Security Council, where Russia and Algeria sit.
It will be recalled that this meeting was co-chaired by the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, current president of the AU. Likewise, only the 54 legitimate members of the AU, recognized by the UN, were invited by Moscow. Which also constitutes a lesson for certain international partners of Africa who are still being fooled by Algeria’s maneuvers. Ultimately, there is no place for “SADR” in the Russia-Africa partnership.
Mr. Bourita interjects that there is a massive international awareness thanks to the international dynamic driven by His Majesty the King in favor of the Sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara and the Autonomy Initiative as the only solution to the artificial disputes, while imposing another observation: growing rejections of the propaganda attempts of the “Polisario”: evidenced by the expulsion of the puppet entity from the Africa-China, Africa-South Korea partnership meetings, Bali Forum, … no participation or invitation addressed to the “polisario”. This non-participation is also a recognition of the relevance of the Royal vision and the strategic role of Morocco as an African partner.
As a reminder, the ministerial meeting aims to prepare the third edition of the Russia Africa Summit which establishes cooperation between the Russian Federation and the African continent.
