On the morning of Monday, November 11, a plane belonging to the company Royal Air Maroc, at Mohammed V international airport, suffered damage to the left engine following a violent collision with the plane’s bridge.
This is flight 500 which operated the connection between Dakar international airport and Mohammed V airport in Casablanca.
The causes of the collision, according to the same data, were due to an error in the direction of the plane when it landed on the airport floor, towards the plane’s jetway, where it was ordered to park the large plane on the sidewalk reserved for small planes, which resulted in a collision with the body of the plane.
According to the same data, the collision caused significant damage to the left engine of the plane, and also created a state of terror inside the plane and confusion among those responsible for the smooth operation of the flights.
This is not the first time that Mohammed V airport has witnessed this type of accident. On June 27, 2022, a Moroccan plane belonging to the company Royal Air Maroc suffered engine damage following a collision with a truck traveling at the airport.
For reference, the passenger jetway or airplane bridge, which has another name called “airplane pipe”, is a bridge that connects the airport building and the aircraft gate, allowing passengers to board and disembark from the plane without being exposed to external climatic factors. such as heat or cold, which facilitates the travel process and comfort of passengers.
