HIBAPRESS
Mohamed Saad Barrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, confirmed that the process of reforming the education system is progressing positively, but it requires a time frame of ten years to show tangible results, given the nature of the deep-seated problems facing the sector.
Barrada explained, in a private interview with Hespress yesterday, Sunday, that the current government has made education reform a major national priority since taking office, pointing out that the 2026 finance bill includes raising the sector's budget to 97 billion dirhams, which is an unprecedented financial mobilization aimed at ensuring the success of this strategic project. The minister revealed that 70 percent of primary education institutions nationwide will be transformed into "pioneer" schools during the next academic year, within the framework of a program aimed at improving the quality of learning, developing teaching methods, and equipping educational spaces to ensure a stimulating educational environment. As for the issue of capping the age of entry into the teaching profession at 30 years, Barrada explained that the Ministry is continuing to study this decision, and it will be decided before launching the new recruitment competitions that will open to 20,000 university graduates this year.
