Rabat/ 2nd edition of the International Chemistry Forum: Morocco, global hub of chemistry

The second edition of the International Chemistry Forum was held on May 15 and 16, 2024 in Rabat, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
This forum, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), focused on the high-performance battery industry and aims to bring together all stakeholders involved in the chemical industry.
The Federation of Chemistry and Parachemistry (FCP), one of the most dynamic federations in Morocco, was established as a professional association with a legal personality and financial autonomy since 1993. It brings together companies in the chemical sector. chemistry, whether Moroccan or subsidiaries of foreign groups, private or public, established in the country.
The Chemistry sector includes large national groups, subsidiaries of multinationals and numerous SMEs operating in ten diversified chemical sectors. This sector is closely linked upstream and downstream to the country’s other industrial and economic sectors.
Global demand for electric cars continues to grow, and thanks to the numerous projects underway, Morocco, blessed with abundant phosphate and cobalt resources, is poised to become a leading player in the battery value chain. high performance lithium-ion for the automotive industry.
In this perspective, this major meeting aimed to establish alliances with renowned international players, with the aim of facilitating the creation of an ecosystem dedicated to high-performance batteries in Morocco. This initiative will usher in a new era for the chemistry industry and position the Kingdom as a global chemistry hub.
