The governing body of French football has taken the decision to temporarily relegate Olympique Lyonnais to the second division, due to the financial crisis it is going through.

This Body is an independent committee which controls the finances of professional football clubs in France. She also decided to prevent the club from entering the transfer market, due to the accumulation of debts which reach 500 million euros, according to the French press.

If Lyon fails to resolve its financial crisis before the end of the current season, it will be relegated to the second division, regardless of its position in the standings.
