Participants in an economic meeting organized on Thursday in Tangier, under the theme “Hispanic-Luso-Moroccan relations for 2030: a new dynamic for common prosperity”, underlined that the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup offers significant business and partnership opportunities between businesses and economic players from the three countries.
Participants in this event, organized at the initiative of the General Confederation of Moroccan Businesses of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region (CGEM-TTA), in partnership with the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Morocco and the Chamber of Commerce , industry and services from Portugal to Morocco, affirmed that the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup should stimulate real dynamics to achieve common prosperity in the three countries.
On this occasion, the Ambassador of Spain to Morocco, Enrique Ojeda Vila, stressed that the joint organization of the World Cup is one of the strategic partnership projects which constitute a model of joint development adopted by Morocco and Spain, and which resulted in the launch of major projects in several sectors.
The ambassador emphasized the exceptional relations between Morocco and Spain, recalling that Morocco constitutes the first destination for Spanish investments in Africa.
In this regard, he called for strengthening bilateral diplomatic and political relations and encouraging investments, especially since there is a common cultural and humanitarian history between Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
For his part, the Portuguese ambassador to Morocco, Carlos Pereira Marques, indicated that the joint organization of the World Cup represents a common challenge which will have a strong socio-economic impact, which requires the conclusion of “win-win” partnerships. between the economic actors of the three countries.
For his part, the president of the CGEM-TTA, Adil Rais, noted that each of the three countries has strong points; Morocco has a strong presence in Africa, and Spain and Portugal are present in Europe and Latin America, believing that unifying efforts will allow economic operators to obtain mutual benefits and access new markets.
He said that the objective of this meeting is to discuss ways to take immediate initiatives, create partnerships and reflect on what can be built together on the economic and cultural levels, based on economic relations. strong and common history between Morocco, Spain and Portugal, noting that Spain is Morocco’s leading supplier and Portugal is an important economic partner for the Kingdom, to the extent that trade between the three countries are around 60 billion euros.
He affirmed that this meeting aims to reflect on “the unification of the efforts of actors in each country to make development more harmonious, create integration opportunities and integrate together new markets in America, Africa and Europe.”
As for the president of the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Morocco, Esteves Martinez, he noted that this meeting, the first of its kind between the three partners, aims to develop common economic initiatives within the framework of the 2030 World Cup , considered “a fundamental objective for all companies”, emphasizing that this event makes it possible to create synergies between economic actors from the three countries, with a view to exploring available business opportunities.
The president of the regional delegation of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services in Northern Morocco, Omar Kaddaoui, noted that this meeting aims to strengthen Spanish and Portuguese investments in Morocco, especially since bilateral economic relations have experienced remarkable development in recent years, emphasizing that the chamber is working to strengthen the presence of Portuguese investments in Morocco, which has become a global logistics platform, particularly in the Northern region, which represents the second economic center of the Kingdom.
At the end of this event, B2B meetings were organized to strengthen relations between Moroccan, Spanish and Portuguese economic players and discuss cooperation opportunities, in order to develop joint projects.
