National voter, Walid Regragui, has confirmed that he is not afraid of facing any African team in the future, indicating his willingness to test his team against strong teams ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which Morocco will host.
Regragui added: “It is important to appreciate the excellent work done by the players during the qualifiers, as we beat all our competitors at home and away. I always hear in the press that our team must play against bigger teams, and sometimes our ability to perform exceptionally against big African teams is questioned.
The national coach explained that he was exposed to this type of skepticism while managing Wydad Athletic Club, where he won several matches with the team in the African Champions League, despite skepticism about his abilities against to clubs like Zamalek and Al-Ahly. noting that he was also capable of winning against them.
Regragui concluded in a press conference after the Lesotho match, which ended in a 7-0 victory for Morocco: “We need to have more confidence in our abilities and give our team the value it deserves.” Why do some people doubt our ability to win against big African teams? Of course, we won’t win by seven goals against the best teams on the continent, but we are capable of beating any African team.
