Manchester City have officially announced a two-year contract extension for their Spanish coach, Pep Guardiola, ending controversy over his future with the team.
The club explained in its statement that the new contract would keep Guardiola with City for more than a full decade, having led the team to win 18 titles, including six English Premier League and Champions League titles.
The statement added that Guardiola made history with City, including achieving the treble of the English Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup last season, and that the team reached 100 points in one season for the first time (2017/18).
Under his leadership, the team played 490 matches, winning 353 of them with an incredible 72% win rate, during which the team scored 1,200 goals, making Guardiola one of the most successful coaches titles in the history of the club.
