Today, Friday, the derby between Raja Athletic Club and Wydad Athletic Club was the scene of a controversial incident which sparked strong reactions on social media platforms.
International Jamal Harkas made a strange error when Raja Sakho striker left the club and turned around, only to be surprised by his very presence in a direct confrontation with Wydad goalkeeper Al Mutee, who took advantage of the situation and scored a goal for his team.
Harkas’ mistake in that match shocked many observers, especially since it came after national voter Walid Regragui had placed his trust in him during the Moroccan national team’s recent matches, in which he participated mainly alongside Naif Akrad.
Many critics believe that this type of error does not occur even among novice players, raising questions about the extent to which Harkas has benefited from his recent international experience.
Some also added that this incident highlights the national team’s urgent need for a stronger and more stable defender in such sensitive moments.
