Akhannouch: “Morocco’s achievements in various fields are the fruit of the Royal Vision”

Morocco’s achievements in the constitutional, democratic, development, diplomatic and even sporting fields are the fruit of the enlightened Royal Vision which has always been the basis of the consecration of the modern State, affirmed, Wednesday in Rabat, the Head of the government, Aziz Akhannouch.

In accordance with the clairvoyant Royal Vision, Moroccan diplomacy has made several breakthroughs in the Moroccan Sahara issue, having resulted in a succession of recognitions, on an international scale, of the Moroccanness of the Sahara, which confirm the relevance of the Approach Royal in the management of this artificial dispute, underlined Mr. Akhannouch during the joint plenary session, held by the Houses of Representatives and Advisors for the presentation of the progress report on the government’s action in accordance with article 101 of the Constitution.

This insightful Approach aims to make the southern provinces of the Kingdom a geopolitical space of reference, bringing peace, stability and prosperity for the Euro-African region, thus making it possible to mobilize more international support for the first national cause and the autonomy initiative, he noted.

Likewise, the seriousness and solidity of the Moroccan position within the framework of the UN process also offer promising prospects for establishing the Moroccan Sahara as the world’s “gateway” to Africa and the first crossing point for economic and humanitarian efforts towards the subcontinent, in view of the rich historical legacy shared between the Kingdom and the rest of the peoples of Africa, thus consolidating the strategic position of Morocco in its continental environment, and creating favorable conditions for the attraction of large global investments, he said.

And to underline that the Kingdom, under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King, is engaged in a new generation of partnerships with a number of brotherly and friendly countries, citing as an example the success of Morocco, alongside Spain and Portugal , to obtain the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup, a renewed opportunity to strengthen cooperation and partnership with these two countries on the sporting, economic and civilizational levels.

Mr. Akhannouch also recalled the signing of several agreements and the Declaration “towards an innovative, renewed and rooted partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of the United Arab Emirates”, which constitute an opportunity to develop the various aspects of the economic, commercial and investment cooperation between the two countries.

This dynamic, he specified, was reinforced by the announcement by His Majesty the King of an international initiative aimed at facilitating the access of the Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean, which should contribute to establishing the dimension Africa from Morocco.

After having highly praised the relevance of these Royal projects, Mr. Akhannouch expressed the full readiness and commitment of the government to mobilize its resources for effective support of these major projects, whether in terms of improving the quality of infrastructure, or through the consolidation of cooperation links with friendly and brotherly partner countries.

To this end, he recalled the initiatives and positions of the Sovereign in favor of the Palestinian cause, which unequivocally demonstrate that Morocco, King and people, is committed to making this issue a national cause.

On another note, Mr. Akhannouch highlighted the important place that Morocco occupies on the international scene in the field of human rights, considering that the election of the Kingdom as president of the Human Rights Council of United Nations is only a consecration of the process led by Morocco in the area of ​​human rights and a clear expression of the confidence and credibility enjoyed by the Kingdom in this area.

And to continue that the decision of His Majesty the King to establish the Amazigh New Year, an official paid national holiday, constituted a significant historical moment which will make it possible to consolidate the major achievements made in this area.

Highlighting the High Concern with which the Sovereign surrounds the issues of women and the family in general, and His constant concern to preserve family cohesion, Mr. Akhannouch recalled the Royal Letter addressed, on September 26, 2023, to the Head of the government relating to the revision of the Family Code as well as the broad consultations and participatory hearings undertaken by the Authority responsible for this revision with the various stakeholders concerned.

The High Royal Instructions had stipulated to submit the amendment proposals which will emanate from these broad participatory consultations to the High appreciation of HM the King, Amir Al-Mouminine, the guarantor of the rights and freedoms of citizens, within a maximum period of six months and this, before the government drafted the bill on this subject and submitted it to parliament for adoption, he noted.

In this sense, the Head of Government said he was honored to have submitted to the High Appreciation of His Majesty the King, Amir Al Mouminine, the proposals of the Authority responsible for revising the Family Code in accordance with the set deadline. by the Sovereign.

Mr. Akhannouch wished, in conclusion, to express his deep gratitude to HM the King for the achievements and the rebirth that Morocco has experienced on all levels, maintaining that the government is honored to assume responsibility for implementing the High Royal Directives.
