Heba Press – Abdel Latif Baraka
A legal ruling handed down by the Court of Appeal of Agadir brought justice to a citizen who was bitten by a stray dog in the city, which caused him to fracture his hand following his fall while he was was chasing on his motorcycle months ago. . Initially, the municipality of Agadir attempted to appeal the initial judgment, but the Administrative Court of Appeal confirmed its decision in favor of the citizen concerned, forcing the municipality to bear financial costs amounting to 5 million cents.
The problem of stray dogs is one of the most worrying subjects in Agadir, as they are increasingly common in the streets and public squares, which arouses condemnation from residents. In several cases, these dogs have given rise to serious incidents, including attacks during which citizens were injured or even killed by rabies.
To try to resolve this problem, the municipality of Agadir and the regional council have allocated a budget to create a special shelter for stray dogs, in a move aimed at reducing the risks of these animals and preserving the safety of citizens. It is hoped that this project will help to significantly improve the situation, especially in one of the most important tourist cities in the Kingdom.
