The Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts under the Ministry of Economy and Finance indicated that the total number of telephone services in Morocco increased by 5.6% to reach 55.9 million subscribers in 2023, after a increase of 3% the previous year.
In its note on the situation for the month of April 2024, Management explained that the growth rate of this category reached a record level of 150.9% in 2023, compared to 144.3% the previous year.
The same report reported that the landline base grew by 8.5% in 2023, while the internet subscriber base closed last year with growth of 7.6% to almost 38, 3 million subscribers, with a growth rate of 103.4%.
On the other hand, the Management mentioned that the added value of the information and communication technologies sector increased by 2% in the fourth quarter of 2023, after a growth of 0.3% in the third quarter of the same year, by 2% in the second quarter of 2023 and by 0.9% in the first quarter of the same year.
On average, this added value increased by 1.3% in 2023, after an improvement of 2.6% the previous year.
