Algeria/7th Gas Summit: the absence of most heads of exporting countries increases Algeria’s isolation

The seventh Summit of Gas Exporting Countries concluded in Algeria, amid a notable absence of most of the heads of major gas exporting countries, including Russia and Nigeria, reflecting the international isolation that knows Algerian diplomacy.

Absent from the Summit of Gas Exporting Countries in Algeria were Russian President Vladimir Putin, Nigerian President Paula Tinubu, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Egyptian President Mohammed Abdelfattah Sissi and the presidents of Angola and Equatorial Guinea.

Among Arab leaders, only three presidents participated: Iraqi President Abdellatif Jamal Rachid, Tunisian President Qais Saed and Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
