In a world first, the National Water and Forest Agency (ANWFA), in collaboration with its relevant partners, such as the Ministry of the Interior and Civil Protection, has set May 21 of each year as the national awareness day to the dangers of forest fires at the national level.

This year, the ANWFA has chosen to involve the younger generation in the process of raising awareness of the dangers of forest fires by offering awareness activities and awareness programs which will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in schools in several regions of the Kingdom.

This initiative, the first of its kind, aims to raise students’ awareness of the importance of forest cover and the need for its preservation by young and old alike, particularly in light of the drastic climate changes the world is experiencing and the problem of water scarcity with the specter of drought.

On this occasion, the National Office of Water and Forests is doing its best to promote awareness campaigns in all regions and schools in the Kingdom, on Tuesday May 21, 2024.
