Morocco files a complaint with UNESCO concerning Algeria.

Moroccan authorities filed a complaint on Tuesday with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) concerning an Algerian file on the traditional garment known as the “caftan”.

The complaint concerns an Algerian file containing a photo and a video showing what the Moroccan ministry calls the “caftan nataâ al-Fassi”.

The Moroccan ministry sent the complaint to the Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, accusing Algeria of attributing this garment to the eastern Algerian region.

The text of the complaint indicates that Morocco requests the removal of the photo and video from the Algerian file.
