Casablanca, 18th edition of the Mohammed VI International Karate Cup 1 Premier League: more than 1,200 people, including a total of 380 athletes, coaches, technical staff, referees and members of the various WKF committees, representing more than 80 countries from the five Continents.

Organized under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the 18th edition of the Mohammed VI International Karate Cup, one of the stages of the “Karate1 Premier League” scheduled from May 31 to June 2, 2024 in Casablanca, will see the participation of biggest world stars of this sport.
Mr. Saïd Cherrat, the director of this edition, noted that this international event will see the participation of more than 1,200 people, including a total of 380 athletes, coaches, technical staff, referees and members of the various WKF committees, representing more than from 80 countries from five continents.
During a press conference, held yesterday Monday in Casablanca, he revealed that the desire expressed by many countries to take part in this 18th edition of the Mohammed VI International Karate Cup with their greatest champions, is due to the reputation and professional experience demonstrated by Morocco, through the organization of several continental and international events, but also by the charm, diversity, security and tolerance which characterize Morocco and which fits into the box of Sports Diplomacy and promotion of tourism.
Mr. Cherrat did not go through all the hassle to clearly expose the various achievements, such as the organization of prestigious international championships, the formation of a high-level national team including top 10 world karateka including the Vice-world champion Said Oubaya, in addition to the positive results recorded in a good number of international competitions, which allowed Morocco to occupy a place of choice among the major karate countries, highlighting, in passing, the role of National Karate Center in terms of training and the interest given to sport-study courses, which allows karatekas to combine studies and training in this National Center, while participating in international tournaments throughout the year.
Mr. Charrat is on the question of the shortcomings and the public which may arise, strongly decided that the organizing committee of the Mohammed VI International Karate Cup has mobilized all the logistical, organizational means, as well as the infrastructures capable of establish this sporting event as an annual meeting bringing together the best karatekas who occupy the first 30 places in the world rankings. He reveals that this year, we have innovated with a new platform which will ensure the quality and quantity of the public which will fill 100% the stands of the Covered Hall of the Mohammed V Complex, as long as the Karate public has its own characteristics but who will respond in large numbers to this important event
Mr. Charrat also noted that “It is with immense pride that the Royal Moroccan Federation of Karate and Associated Disciplines, at its head Mr. Mouktabil, formulates a competition of international scope and world renown for the best karate athletes of the planet, for an exceptional sporting spectacle”, knowing (in conclusion) that “The Mohammed VI International Karate Cup 1- Premier League is more than a simple sporting event, it is a true celebration of the human values of sharing and respect. We are convinced that this event will help promote internationally the image of an open, dynamic and modern Morocco under the Enlightened Leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.”
